  • Expertly skilled at gathering functional requirements and converting those into a realistic, detailed functional spec and project plan.

The Role
Amazon is seeking a Process Improvement Specialist to work with the Amazon Fulfillment Technology (AFT) team and Fulfillment (FC) operators. The role is based out of PAE2, a Fulfillment Center located in Arlington, Washington. This role will be working as an advocate program manager that focuses on deep diving opportunities and driving improvement and adoption of AFT software. This role is designed to elevate AFT and the products they create.
The Process Improvement Specialist is a trusted partner and liaison, working and communicating between site operations and software teams to help influence planning strategy. This role will work to develop solutions that will drive operational excellence while delivering best in class network performance across all process paths. The Process Improvement Specialist will solve business critical problems, accelerate implementation of advanced technologies and strengthen the technical acumen and process knowledge of operations leaders across the FC network.
Successful candidates will utilize advanced process improvement methodologies to capture end-to-end current versus future state cross functional/process initiatives to deliver strong inputs towards Operational Planning (OP) cycles. You will partner closely with cross functional teams, including NA Operations and Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT) to analyze key opportunities and be the liaison between AFT and Operations.
The Process Improvement Specialist will lead all aspects of phased, high priority work-streams across the entirety of the NACF Customer Fulfillment network. Internally, you will help enhance, standardize and modernize processes, technology and best practices across the AFT organization; and foster a delivery-oriented partnership with stakeholders based on common metrics and KPIs. This role requires the ability to demonstrate ownership, identify solutions in ambiguous situations, interpret data, and lead through influence to deliver meaningful results translating to tangible productivity and efficiency gains across the FC network.
Please note, this position will require daily presence in the PAE2 Fulfillment center with a strong focus on the floor to understand the depth of operations and AFT tooling.
Key job responsibilities
  • Outstanding Project Management skills, delivering complex, large-scale projects from scoping to completion with a long-term impact on a product, technology or architecture of Amazon fulfillment operations.
  • Develop a process excellence strategy that will build capability and drive a culture of continuous improvement (kaizen, lean, root causing etc) across the ACES Process and Systems Engineering team.
  • Facilitate learning and development of PSE team capability on key process toolkit e.g. Design Thinking, Lean Six Sigma & Agile to accelerate process improvement, project management and strong employee engagement.
  • Be recognized as a technical leader in the network evidenced by being the single ‘go to’ EU expert for the most complex problems and issues as well as significantly influencing and driving the technical vision and roadmap to advance fulfillment center products and services.
  • Create clear and compelling written business proposals for ideas and recommendations for director/VP level audiences combined with strong financial models to support the prioritization of the business initiatives and influence dependent teams.
  • Simplify processes and technologies, decompose complex problems into straightforward solutions, evaluate and analyse the efficiency of fulfillment center systems and process configuration settings and drive reduction in FullCPU.
A day in the life
As a Process Improvement Specialist, you will often deal with great deal of ambiguity related to business critical problems. Your role is to find the right path forward, identify a short term fix while working towards the long term std solution. You will also require to demonstrate certain level of flexibility, and take an extra mile to support solving critical problems at short notice. Leveraging on your subject matter knowledge, you will seek to identify revolutionary changes with your business partners in and outside of your organization.
About the team
Amazon Customer Excellence Systems (ACES) team plays a critical role in orchestrating cross functional technology and continuous improvement projects from scoping and design through to test and rollout of final solutions. Team plays a vital role in integration and communication between Amazon Technology teams and Fulfillment Centre (FC) Operations.
Our goal is to design autonomous and automated systems to remove complex decision-making with simple solutions and to facilitate operational control of end to end fulfillment execution.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $111,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $189,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
