The ideal candicate for this position will handle a number of roles at a thriving debt collection law firm that has been operating for over 35 years. You will be working out of our Western, PA office located in Monroeville, PA on the outskirts of Pittsburgh. The position requires both litigation work as well as settling claims with debtors. You will be appearing at hearings ranging from small claims court trials, compulsory arbitrations, bench trials, to various motions and depositions. You will be preparing lawsuits and motions as needed. You will be the lead collector on our non-litigation claims. You will also handle some collections of litigation claims both during suit and post-judgment.
Our office utilizes some of the most current technology in both the legal and debt collection profession. Experience with Collection Master is a plus, but the ability to easily operate a computer and learn new programs is required. As you will be interacting with debtors, clients, and court staff, you will need to be able to confidently and intelligently express yourself in person, in writing and on the phone. You must be admitted and in good standing to practice law in Pennsylvania. Applicants who also possess a license to practice law in West Virginia will be given preference.
