Amalgamated Life Insurance is Hiring a Junior Treasury Analyst Near White Plains, NY
The Junior Treasury Analyst is expected to learn and be able to perform most departmental functions (with some exceptions), as rotation of responsibilities is a key mission of the department. These functions include but are not limited to reconciliation of all assigned accounts on a daily/weekly basis including cash flow maintenance, reclamation of payments, bank service charge analysis, transfers and wires, processing tax payments, processing ACH transmittals, transaction input to Oracle, file maintenance and regular interaction with both external and internal contacts.
Monitor bank accounts for transactions and disseminate information to staff accountants and various other departments.
Process assigned client cash flows and work with account representatives and staff accountants to address queries related to cash flows
Periodically perform account reconciliation to ensure accuracy of cashflow information
Access account information from various online banking sites and retrieve data to be distributed to multiple contacts including monthly statements related to assigned cash flows
Collect prior day activity, reconcile corresponding accounts and distribute to staff accountants transactions including ACH credits, returns and other relevant items
Regularly utilize various company systems to obtain transaction data applicable to cash flows
Process bank service charge analysis for assigned clients
Assist with the processing of transfers, wires, payment reclamations and tax payments
Assist with the input of daily transactions into Oracle
Take the initiative to learn typical department functions, cross-train and rotate certain processes with other department analysts
Associates Degree; finance or accounting-related major preferred; BA Degree a plus.
Treasury related experience preferred.
Proficient in MS Office programs, especially Word and Excel.
Basic Accounting practices and principles a plus.
Banking practices and principles a plus.
Effective oral and written communication skills as well as the ability to listen and apply critical thinking.
Must be a self-starter and be willing to assist with the day-to-day operations of the department.
Possess sound judgment and solid problem solving and analytical skills.
Meticulous attention to detail and a keen recognition of the value, significance and timeliness required of the data dealt with and provided by the department.
Strong organization skills.
Dependable with good inter-personal qualities and willingness to communicate with colleagues is essential.
Must be a team player willing to work within the organization’s guidelines and commit to its mission.
Familiarity with bank Cash Management/Treasury/Payment systems preferred.
