Amalga Job Description

Position: Manufacturing Specialist - CNC Programming.

Starting Salary: $30.00 to $37.00 depending on experience.

Amalga is searching for a highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Specialist - CNC Programming to join our growing team! In this role, you'll play a vital role in optimizing our machine shop operations by leveraging your expertise in CNC programming and hands-on machining.

Responsibilities:

  • Continuously improve manufacturing processes by identifying opportunities for optimization and automation.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure programs align with design specifications.
  • Write, edit, and optimize CNC programs for various parts using advanced machining techniques.
  • Set up and troubleshoot CNC machines (primarily HAAS) to ensure efficient and accurate production.
  • Calculate machining times and create work instructions for improved scheduling and production flow.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of programs, setups, and machining procedures.
  • Create preventative maintenance guides for equipment in the machine shop.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Who Will Succeed in This Role:

This role is ideal for a highly motivated individual with a strong background in manufacturing and a passion for CNC programming. We welcome applications from:

  • Manufacturing Engineers with experience in CNC programming and machining processes.
  • Mechanical Engineers with a hands-on approach and experience in manufacturing applications.
  • CNC Machinists with extensive experience and a desire to expand their skillset into advanced programming.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience in CNC programming and operating CNC machines (HAAS experience a plus).
  • Strong understanding of machining principles, cutting tool selection, and fixturing techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and troubleshoot machining issues.
  • Proficient in using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks, Fusion360) for CNC programming.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data and optimize processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • A passion for continuous learning and improvement.
