Always Fishing Hospitality Group is Hiring an Event Cook Near Oakland, CA

Event Cook 
Always Fishing Hospitality Group is looking to hire a commendable cook to work events in various locations. You will work for hand and hand with the Head Chef to ensure all of the food is produced properly and safely. Top candidates are creative, service-oriented, and level-headed. 
Duties and Responsibilities but not limited to: 
  • Punctuality, professionalism, proper attire, and tools of the trade. 
  • Consult with the Head Chef and management team at the beginning of each shift to define and share event specifics. 
  • Clock in via Nowsta upon arrival, for breaks, and at the conclusion of the shift. 
  • Attend pre-event meetings to review the menu, timelines, and dietary constraints of the menu items 
  • Perform set-up duties including but not limited to, setting up the kitchen as a team and functioning work stations. Assist team with organizing load-in and pack-out. 
  • Assist kitchen team to create functioning workstations for prep and plate up. 
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen, storage, sanitizing stations, waste bins, and common use areas. 
  • Cook, reheat, plate and garnish a variety of different foods in bulk. 
  • Maintaining communication with your Head Chef and team while maintaining your given tasks 
  • Assist with kitchen breakdown duties including load out; packing food, stack rentals, managing waste, sweeping/mopping as needed 
  • Preform time efficient and organized load outs and be able to assist in putting everything away when needed 
On-site Event Cook’s Qualifications: 
  • Two years’ experience working in a restaurant, commercial kitchen, hotel, or catering company. 
  • An elevated sense of culinary design and presentation. 
  • Ability to taste everything and adjust seasoning as needed 
  • Passionate, responsible, hard-working with an open mind. 
  • Attention to detail with cleanliness, organization, and knife skills. 
  • Self-starter, comfortable independently or as part of a team 
  • Must maintain a food handler certification. 
  • Basic knowledge of standard prep items like making stocks, sauces, soups, purees, etc .
  • Willing to perform a variety of duties to facilitate the event's success. 
  • Night, weekend, and holiday availability and flexibility 
  • Valid driver’s license & clean driving record. 
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs 
  • Ability to stand for long periods
