Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care, including assisting with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Administer medications as prescribed by a healthcare professional
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature
- Assist with mobility and transfers, using proper lifting techniques
- Assist with tube feeding and other specialized medical procedures
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients
- Follow care plans and communicate any changes in the patient's condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for the patient
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification as a Home Health Aide (HHA) or Personal Care Assistant (PCA)
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic healthcare procedures
- Experience working with patients in hospice care, memory care, or those with developmental disabilities is a plus
- Ability to lift and move patients safely
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate and patient-focused approach to caregiving
