Alvarado Parkway Institute (API) is San Diego's leading provider of comprehensive mental health and substance abuse care. As a part of our Behavioral Healthcare system, API operates a free-standing 66 bed psychiatric hospital in La Mesa, California with four Intensive Outpatient/Partial Hospitalization Programs. These programs emphasize symptom management, community integration, and prevention of hospitalization or re-hospitalization.
Job Summary
Alvarado Parkway Institute is currently seeking a qualified and experienced individual to join our Dietary Department as our Food Service Worker at our La Mesa location.This position will ensure the delivery of healthy, desirable, and cost-effective dietary services to patients, staff, and guests of the organization. Serves meals to all cafeteria customers. This position cleans work area as necessary or assigned. Accepts and reconciles deliveries and puts away stock. Assists the cook and dietary supervisor in food preparation. The successful candidate must be able to concentrate on work amidst distractions such as noise, conversations, and foot traffic; must be able to consistently meet deadlines and finish all food preparation at the specified serving time; must be flexible in work hours in order to meet patient and organization operating needs. The successful candidate must be able to use kitchen equipment such as knives, slicers, mixers, and dishwashers; knowledge of the essential hygiene factors involved in food preparation; knowledge of cleaning products, and the appropriate methods of cleaning a variety of surfaces.
