Alumis is Hiring an Associate Director, Procurement Operations Near South San Francisco, CA

We are seeking an experienced, highly skilled, and versatile Indirect Procurement professional to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading purchasing operations and managing company business solutions. Additional responsibilities; include but are not limited to collaborating on department strategic direction, development, execution, and adoption of procurement strategies across the organization, and managing teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

› Ongoing development of procedures, including establishment and management of best practices and internal controls in P2P lifecycle [SOX].

› Work with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., legal, discovery, development, etc.) to establish effective processes and controls related to day-to-day procurement process.

› Help build out and provide leadership and mentorship to the procurement team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous learning.

› Purchase order placement activities: monitoring and/or processing of daily purchase transactions through requisition review primarily for appropriate classifications, price verifications, accuracy of supplier data and completeness of execution contracts to support the purchase order.

› Supplier Management and Coordination: Establish, develop, and monitor relationships with suppliers to ensure critical suppliers are performing optimally, meet the appropriate cost structure, and satisfy necessary levels of service. Supplier onboarding, and offboarding activities within Coupa.

› Maintain the contract workflow between departments, including ensuring that contracts are reviewed internally by legal department and executed in a timely manner in connection with the purchase requisition.

› Documentation of KPI’s, savings, back order-lead time follow up – communication, goods receipt, returns, invoice payment (P2P lifecycle).

› Understanding, and improvement of department’s standard communications, templates, and procedures.

› Customer Support: Provide on-going support to simplify and enhance the customer (end-user) experience by proactively strategizing with business and technical owners to understand the needs of the end-users and client organizations.

› Take an active role in supporting departmental sourcing, design, development, implementation, and adoption of company business solutions (e.g., p-card, Uber, FedEx, Amazon for business, Corporate Travel-Melon, virtual card program).

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

› Proven track record of implementing innovative procurement strategies, driving cost avoidance/savings initiatives, and optimizing supplier relationships.

› Establishes and maintains strong relationships with key suppliers internally and externally, fostering collaboration and innovation to drive continuous improvement and value creation.

› Collaborates with internal stakeholders to align procurement activities with business objectives and goals.

› Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

› Proficiency in procurement software and tools, ERP systems (Coupa and NetSuite), and Microsoft Office Suite.

EDUCATION

› Bachelor’s degree or minimum of ten (10) years of dynamic procurement, with at least five (5) years in a leadership role overseeing indirect procurement function.

› Extensive knowledge of procurement best practices, sourcing methodologies and contract negotiation strategies.

› Professional certifications such as CSCP, CPSM, CIPS, Project Management, Six Sigma are a plus.

This position is located in South San Francisco, CA. At this time we are not considering remote applicants.

The salary range for this position is $200,000 USD to $225,000 USD annually. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary my very based on the Company’s compensation practices.
