Description

 The SCCM Engineer position includes being responsible for:

• Managing Aludyne’s SCCM environment 
• Creation and management of Active Directory Group Policy
• Desktop/application and server troubleshooting and updating. 
• Creating and maintaining process documentation and use of PowerShell and batch scripting. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Manage desktop and server assets.

· Advanced knowledge of registry, permissions, drivers, and MS software required.

· Test workstation and server patches before pushing out to production endpoints and servers.

· Maintain all desktop and server patching to the latest recommended versions.

· Coordinate with various remote sites to update/patch their servers.

· Build and deploy new software packages as needed.

· Perform 2nd level help desk duties to assist helpdesk technicians.

· Support new IT infrastructure projects.

· Assist in the preparation of IT infrastructure yearly budget as it relates to Microsoft licensing.

· Troubleshoot and resolve SCCM and WSUS (if applicable) errors.

· Must be able to collaborate with other IT team members where MS AD and SCCM/WSUS and skills are required.

· Other duties as assigned.

Other:

· This job posting requires full time employment.

· Travel will occasionally be required to other company manufacturing facilities and/or vendor/customer sites.

· Some after-hours work could be required, could including evenings and/or weekends; especially for manual patching of servers that are production uptime critical.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

• MS SCCM certifications are a plus but not required if knowledge can be verified/confirmed.
• Minimum of 5 years of solid SCCM experience, MS active directory and GPO management. 
• Must poses strong knowledge of MS PowerShell.

Skills, Knowledge and Competencies:

MS SCCM, MS WSUS and Active Directory

• Expert knowledge of MS SCCM (workstation imaging and updating/patching) and server updating and patching.
• Strong knowledge of MS Active Directory Sites and Services, Users and Computers, Group Policy, etc.
• Working with WSUS to deliver Microsoft Patching across all MS endpoints and servers. Group policy creation and management to support endpoint and server software deployment. PowerShell and batch scripting is required.

Hardware knowledge

Must have knowledge of various desktop and server hardware and know how to build the correct gold image with necessary hardware/software drivers.

Virtual Desktop Infrastructure

Extensive knowledge of MS Remote Desktop Services (RDS), RDS server.

Problem-solving skills

Able to work with many pieces of hardware and software. Strong deductive reasoning and patience for troubleshooting.

Customer service

• The SCCM Engineer will work with internal and as well as external partners. Communicating well with these “customers” helps the engineer resolve outages quickly and build strong working relationships.
• Level 1 support with in-depth knowledge of desktop/application troubleshooting.

Teaching ability

• The SCCM Engineer may need to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical colleagues and train them to use software and hardware.
• Creating and maintaining process documentation.

Organization skills

Documenting their work, or prioritizing requests for support, the IT SCCM Engineer needs to stay organized to keep on top of their tasks.
