We are currently seeking a highly qualified Manager Manufacturing (Integrated Work Systems) to join us at our Processing Facilities in Hopkinsville, KY. You are responsible for the leadership of the deployment and ongoing operation of the Integrated Work Systems (IWS) for a multi-location manufacturing organization.

You will manage and coordinate the training program for the workforce in alignment with Quality Manufacturing Systems (QMS), IWS, and enterprise training plans and initiatives. This position will manage and contribute to facility strategic plans to continuously improve safety, quality, and productivity performance.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

  • Function as a member of the Plant Leadership Team and support the phased implementation, ongoing management, and health of the Integrated Work System (IWS)
  • Guide and lead the Plant Leadership Team in establishing a robust understanding of the IWS strategy and defining actions to support the delivery of the compelling business need (CBN).
  • Lead and manage the implementation of IWS pillars and guide the plant teams in developing an understanding of each pillar and pillar ownership principles.
  • Arrange and manage one-on-one coaching sessions with all pillar owners
  • Collaborate with corporate pillar owners to ensure site objectives, goals, strategies, and measures (OGSM) align to corporate OGSMs
  • Collaborate with facility personnel to generate the site master plan activities and integrate IWS into the standard operating infrastructure.
  • Attend site pillar meetings and share best practices across pillars
  • Assist corporate pillar leaders in conducting site annual pillar assessments
  • Support some annual pillar assessments for other sites within Operating Companies to benchmark and calibrate
  • Establish, monitor, and communicate facility KPI's and performance metrics and manage and facilitate routine meeting and communication infrastructure (weekly, monthly, quarterly) to review IWS progress, schedule, performance, and engagement.
  • Implement the infrastructure required to support IWS, including; an IWS qualification process for related roles and pillar owners, step-up cards (SUC’s), self and external assessment infrastructure, plan-do-check-act (PDCA) cycle manage plan execution, run to target and daily direction setting infrastructure, data collection and information management tools and procedures, problem solving methodology and infrastructure, plant phase scorecard, pillar health checks, on-on-one coaching with pillar owners, etc.
  • Champion the integration of IWS into the cultural vision of the manufacturing operations.
  • Drive the organizational change management required to develop a data driven culture that focuses on how results are delivered and sustained in alignment with safety, QMS, regulatory, IWS, and compliance principles.
  • Focus the organization of the utilization of IWS tools and methodologies to achieve results in alignment with the Master Plan and facility CBN.
  • Support a culture of servant leadership and focus the organization of plant floor coaching and adherence to the no meeting zone.
  • Lead Loss Elimination (LE) Pillar within the IWS.
  • Manage and coach the LE pillar team and larger organization to build capability to resolve losses through the use of Initial
  • Problem Solving (IPS) and Unified Problem Solving (UPS).
  • Analyze process data, process control systems, manufacturing execution systems, and other relevant data sources to identify trends affecting safety, quality, productivity, and waste.
  • Collaborate with the pillar team and the plant leadership team to initiate actions to systematically eliminate loss in a sustainable way.
  • Train and build organizational capability in loss elimination toolsets, including Changeover, Daily Management System, Loss
  • Ranking, 6S Standards, Work Process Improvement, etc.
  • Lead and manage the facility training and development infrastructure to build and enhance the capability of the workforce.
  • Continuously train, educate, and build capability in the manufacturing organization on IWS and QMS concepts, implementation strategies, capabilities, principles, toolsets, and procedures.
  • Support the creation and execution of role based and individual development plans for facility personnel.

Education/Experience Preferences

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM related field (e.g., Science, Technology, Engineering or Math). 5 years’ experience in leading manufacturing organizations preferred.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment capabilities, including IWS, Lean and Six Sigma.
  • Proven track record with mentoring robust work teams to achieve the goals of the business.
  • Ability to apply sophisticated mathematical concepts. Experience crafting, analyzing, and managing fixed and variable operating budgets.
  • Ability to effectively allocate resources to achieve multiple goals and meet established goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate to large groups and executive audiences. Effective collaboration and interpersonal communication and influencing skills - including influencing without authority.
