Altos Eye Physicians is Hiring an Ophthalmic Technician Near Los Altos, CA

Altos Eye Physicians is a comprehensive ophthalmology practice and specializes in routine family eye care as well as complex medical and surgical eye diseases. We are seeking a full-time Ophthalmic Tech for our back office. Must be available Monday - Friday.

Perfect opportunity for someone who is trying to jump start their clinical career as we will train the right fit even if totally new to the field.

The ophthalmic technician's primary responsibilities:

  • Obtaining basic medical history information
  • Measuring each patient's visual acuity
  • Administering a wide array of diagnostic tests to determine the structure and function of each patient's eye.
  • Our technicians will be trained to work closely with our patients to help educate them about the condition of their eyes as assessed by our ophthalmologists and optometrist and to counsel the patients on their options for vision correction.
  • Preparing patients' medical records, working with patients' medical insurance plans, and completing financial transactions and patients' scheduling needs.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Completion of Ophthalmic Technician experience is preferred but NOT REQUIRED.
  • Ability to accurately type a minimum of 40 WPM
  • Strong verbal and written communications, and active listening skills
  • Solid patient/guest relations skills with the ability to communicate in a professional, courteous and efficient manner
  • Ability to perform basic math
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize task in order to complete assignments within the time allotted to maintain standard workflow
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member who is flexible, cooperative and willing to assist others
