Join our team at Altoona Health & Rehab! Located at 6532 Walnut Grove Rd, Altoona, Alabama 35952, Altoona Health & Rehab is committed to providing exceptional care and support to our 50 residents. We are currently seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join us as the Assistant Director of Nursing.

As the Assistant Director of Nursing, you will work closely with the Director of Nursing to assist in the overall management and operation of our skilled nursing facility. Your leadership, clinical expertise, and organizational skills will be essential in ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and services to our residents.

Key Responsibilities of an Assistant Director of Nursing:

  • Assisting the Director of Nursing in overseeing day-to-day nursing operations, including resident care, staff management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Providing leadership and guidance to nursing staff members to ensure the delivery of compassionate and competent care.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of nursing policies, procedures, and programs to promote resident well-being and safety.
  • Supporting compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Assisting with staff training, orientation, and competency assessments to maintain a skilled and knowledgeable workforce.
  • Participating in quality assurance activities, including audits, assessments, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Assisting in responding to resident and family inquiries, concerns, and grievances, and addressing issues promptly and effectively.
  • Participating in state surveys, audits, and inspections, and assisting with the implementation of corrective actions as needed.

Qualifications for the Role:

  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Alabama.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience in a skilled nursing facility or long-term care setting.
  • Strong clinical background with knowledge of nursing practices, procedures, and regulations.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to effectively lead and manage a team of nursing professionals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff members.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations governing nursing practice and long-term care facilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including electronic health records (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Commitment to continuous quality improvement and professional development.
