Alto Health Care Staffing is Hiring a Physical Therapist - Medical Acute Care Unit (MACU) Near Bethel, AK

Position Overview: As a Physical Therapist in our Medical Acute Care Unit, you will play a crucial role in the multidisciplinary healthcare team dedicated to providing comprehensive care to patients with acute medical conditions. You will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to assess, diagnose, plan, and implement evidence-based physical therapy interventions to optimize the physical functioning and quality of life of our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Patient Assessment and Evaluation:
    • Perform thorough initial assessments of patients' physical conditions, functional limitations, and mobility.
    • Develop personalized treatment plans based on the assessment findings and in consultation with the medical team.
  2. Treatment Implementation:
    • Administer therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, gait training, and other evidence-based interventions to improve patients' physical function.
    • Monitor patients' progress and modify treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
  3. Patient Education:
    • Educate patients and their families on exercises, mobility aids, and techniques for maintaining or improving physical function.
    • Provide guidance on home exercise programs to promote continued recovery.
  4. Collaboration:
    • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure continuity of services.
    • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and team meetings to discuss patient progress and treatment plans.
  5. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  6. Quality Improvement:
    • Stay informed about the latest advancements in physical therapy and contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the department.
Qualifications:
  • Doctorate or Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • State licensure as a Physical Therapist.
  • CPR certification and other relevant certifications may be required.
  • Prior experience in acute care or hospital-based physical therapy is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
