QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED:
- A Bachelors degree and one year of experience in social services, law enforcement, or correctional employment.
- Must have the ability to relate to offenders in a firm, empathetic fashion. Must also have good interactional skills to permit person to relate with referral agencies and to handle public relations responsibilities.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of MS Office programs.
- Good writing and verbal communication skills, and computer skills.
- Must have experience and demonstrated ability in records management.
- Valid Montana drivers license.
- Ability to pass Federal workplace drug and alcohol testing requirements.
PREFERRED:
- Working experience in a correctional system.
- Direct public relations experience.
- Case management experience.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
The current starting salary for the position is $18.00 per hour, although consideration will be given the successful candidate's experience and educational background.
Anticipated Salary Increases in 2024:
Based on DOC funding expectations, it is anticipated all permanent staff as of applicable effective date can anticipate $1.00 increase in July 2024.
During the fall 2024 and based on agency financial status at the time, it can be anticipated for review of Cost of Living adjustment.
Permanent full-time employees of Alternatives, Inc. are entitled to sick leave, vacation leave, individual health insurance, and retirement benefits. Alternatives, Inc. participates in the State Workers Compensation and Unemployment Insurance plans.
Permanent part-time employees are entitled to a pro-rata share of benefits based on the percentage of full-time hours worked (full-time = 40 hours per week).
Specific detail regarding benefits will be provided upon request at the time of interview or at the time of hire.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
General Overview:
The Transition Services Case Manager is directly accountable to the Director of Community Programs.
The TSCM main responsibility is to provide supervision services to clients that are referred for re-entry services. The CM will provide support and guidance while monitoring all aspects of their participation in the services. The TSCM shall provide firm, fair, and consistent supervision services in a team setting which is supportive of a crime free lifestyle. The TSCM must be able to organize, manage time effectively, and keep records orderly and up to date. TSCM must exhibit skills necessary to work in a team environment with a positive attitude.
General Requirements:
1. All employees of Alternatives, Inc. are responsible for reading and complying with standards and procedures in the following documents:
a. Employee Handbook
b. Standard Operating Procedures
Specific Duties:
- Manage clients referred to ETSS, SCRAM-Contract, Remote Breath- Contract, GPS-Contract, or other programs as assigned. Duties related to the management of these clients will include but are not limited to:
- Performance of intake duties, treatment or job development enrollments, Drug or Alcohol Testing monitoring, and tracking, documenting, and reporting client performance to supervising P&P Officer.
- Track and audit for billing each month.
- Complete paperwork daily for P&P officer.
- Assist with SCRAM downloads as determined by the RSS.
- Coordinate with other staff members for coverage if going to be absent. Be available to cover for Jail Alternative Managers or Satellite Alternatives Managers when requested by the Director of Community Programs (DoCP).
- Become AMS, BI, and PharmChem (or another vendor equipment) certified.
- Document all client contact, whether by phone or in person, and make status changes and input information into the computer.
- Monitor all referral agency mandates placed on clients.
- Ensure a complete record of all contact, progress, or non-compliance from time of referral to discharge. Complete all required paperwork and reports per Alternative’s and DOC policies.
- Participate in meetings as assigned.
- Facilitate education groups as assigned by the RSS.
- Be flexible in assuming new duties and creative in establishing or modifying program operation procedures under the supervision of the RSS.
- Attend and participate in meetings with Probation and Parole.
