QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in human services or related field. Experience may substitute for each year of education.
  • Must have the ability to relate to offenders in a firm, empathetic fashion. Must also have good interactional skills to permit the person to relate with referral agencies and to handle public relations responsibilities.
  • Experience in computer database management and word processing.
  • Good writing, verbal skills, and computer skills with the ability to type a minimum of 40 words per minute.
  • Must have experience and demonstrated ability in records management.
  • Valid Montana driver’s license.

PREFERRED:

  • Working experience in a correctional system
  • Case Management experience.
  • Experience in marketing or public relations.


SALARY AND BENEFITS

The current starting salary for the position is $25.00 per hour.

This is a position funded by the COAP Grant, ending September 30, 2024. Possible full-time permanent position available starting October 1, 2024, to be discussed after successful completion of COAP Grant position.

Permanent full-time employees of Alternatives, Inc. are entitled to sick leave, vacation leave, individual health insurance, and retirement benefits. Alternatives, Inc. participates in the State Workers Compensation and Unemployment Insurance plans.

Permanent part-time employees are entitled to a pro-rata share of benefits based on the percentage of full-time hours worked (full-time = 40 hours per week).

Specific details regarding benefits will be provided upon request at the time of the interview or at the time of hire.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

General Overview:

The COAP Community Coordinator is directly accountable to the Clinical Supervisor.

The Community Coordinator is responsible for providing support, tracking, and guidance to clients enrolled in community treatment programs and the COAP grant by assisting and monitoring all aspects of participation in the Alternatives, Inc. programs. The goal of the Community Coordinator is to assist the client in adhering to program and societal rules while establishing a release plan supportive of a crime-free lifestyle.


General Requirements:

1. All employees of Alternatives, Inc. are responsible for reading and complying with standards and procedures in the following documents:

b. Standard Operating Procedures

Specific Duties:

  • Serve as main administrative support for COAP Grant.
  • Complete detailed time-tracking and documentation for COAP Grant reporting purposes within grant requirements.
  • Gather information from clients as required by the COAP Grant for reporting purposes and enter it into TOM, the electronic healthcare system.
  • Collect and summarize statistics for COAP Grant.
  • Provide the required information to the Program Director in a timely manner for grant reporting purposes.
  • Provide clients with a complete orientation to the appropriate program.
  • Create and maintain files for clients referred for treatment.
  • Schedule appointments as required for clients and issue Failure to Respond (FTR’s) when appropriate.
  • Maintain all required case records and manage file materials within the limits of confidentiality requirements and within the appropriate timelines to ensure accurate documentation.
  • Explain and ensure clients fully understand confidentiality, HIPPA, and program requirements.
  • Maintain documentation of Initial, Discharge, and 6-month and 12-month surveys. This includes mailing out the 6-month and 12-month surveys and tracking returns.
  • Participate in weekly treatment team and participate in clinical staffing of alcohol and drug treatment programming.
  • Enter and update data in the Total Offender Management (TOM) database as needed.
  • Develop and maintain community contacts to the extent that appropriate referrals to community service organizations can be made.
  • Enroll clients in required treatment programs offered by Alternatives, Inc.
  • Data enter all required informational grant reporting, for example, block grant funding, into the SAMS database.
  • Maintain all required case records and manage file materials within the limits of confidentiality requirements and within the appropriate timelines to ensure accurate documentation.
  • Immediately report any non-compliance to referral sources, such as the court, USPO, Passages/Alpha Case Manager, or Misdemeanor Probation Officers.
  • Track and collect fees for all clients on caseload.
  • Be available to become trained and facilitate or act as a backup for other treatment group facilitation, as necessary.
  • Process all incoming and outgoing paperwork for treatment-specific clients.
  • Complete initial assessment of critical care populations for Substance Use Disorder Evaluations.
  • Screen for and refer clients to the Office of Public Assistance for Medicaid processing.
  • Coordinate and schedule all assessments including but not limited to Dangerousness and Violence Assessments, Substance Use Disorder exits, and tele-treatment services.
  • Register clients in groups, conduct SBIRTs, and provide notification of the appointments.
  • Track the treatment progress of clients enrolled in external treatment providers by reporting to referral sources.
  • Monitor / Schedule Supervisory file review.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new treatment programs and services.
  • Maintain inventory of treatment materials.
  • Attend meetings as assigned.
