Temporary ASN Payroll Specialist Job Description

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Temporary Payroll Specialist to join our team and support our payroll operations during a busy period. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with Paylocity, possessing a strong understanding of payroll processes, tax regulations, and compliance requirements. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.

Program Description:

One Summer Chicago is an employment training and job placement program servicing Chicago's youth and young adult population. We connect youth interns with community organizations, non-profits, local businesses, and government agencies in order to provide meaningful work experiences during the summer. Youth learn the hard and soft skills needed to enter the workforce and get to start networking with others who have shared interests and experiences.

Responsibilities:

• Payroll Processing:

-Utilize Paylocity to accurately process payroll for 1,300program participants on a bi-weekly basis
-Ensure timely and accurate processing of new hires, terminations, and employee changes within the payroll system
-Handle voiding and re-issuing of checks as necessary
-Review payroll reports for accuracy before processing payments

• Tax Compliance:

-Stay up-to-date with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations to ensure compliance

Reporting and Analysis:

-Generate payroll reports as needed for management, accounting, and auditing purposes
-Perform regular audits of payroll data to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.

Customer Support:

-Provide timely and professional support to employees regarding payroll inquiries, discrepancies, and related issues.
-Assist in resolving payroll-related concerns and discrepancies in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Payroll Specialist, preferably with Paylocity. Strong understanding of payroll processes, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
Proficiency in using Paylocity or similar payroll software.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
