Position Overview:

Alterman, Inc. is currently seeking a candidate to fill an open IT Infrastructure Administrator I role. The Infrastructure Administrator is a key technical resource that will ensure the stable operation of core IT systems. The role will administer and support the installation and connectivity of managed endpoints, network infrastructure, and unified communication systems. This includes configuring, maintaining, and optimizing network routing, core hardware, and supporting software. The role also contributes to the support of VoIP telephony, data center environments (physical and cloud-based), endpoint management systems, print services, and related technology infrastructure. The Infrastructure Administrator I will continue to grow and develop their technical skillset through ongoing informal and certification-based training, ensuring that Alterman’s IT team can continue to provide the latest and greatest technology to our user base.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Installs, configures, maintains, and monitors the network and server infrastructure to provide overall functionality, reliability, and availability.
• Manages data backup operations to ensure functionality, reliability, and availability.
• Monitors and manages directory and domain services.
• Monitors and applies security and program updates.
• Monitors and supports infrastructure services afterhours and weekends.
• Proactively identifies opportunities for improvement of user-facing technology and submits to IT management.
• Evaluates new technologies and readies recommendations for IT management.
• Research and resolve technical issues, while acting as a mentor and escalation point for IT staff.
• Build knowledge base articles for common or high-impact issues and their resolutions.

Qualifications:

• 5 years in IT support role.
• 2 years in network or system administration role.
• Communicates effectively among IT and company employees.
• Demonstrated experience with process improvement.
• Proficiency in documenting request details, statuses, resolutions, and KBAs.
• Ability to manage and support a diverse technology stack and technology end-user.
• Ability to travel to local and regional locations for support responsilities.
• Essential knowledge in any/all of the following:

• • • Windows Desktop and Server OS functionality, maintenance, and support.
    • SAN and server virtualization design, maintenance, support, and tuning.
    • Azure, Intune, and O365 design, maintenance, and support.
    • Active Directory and Group Policy design, maintenance, and support.
    • Backup functionality, maintenance, and support.
    • Core switching/routing standards, protocols, and managed equipment.
    • SSL/IPSec standards and protocols.
    • Cybersecurity standards and protocols.
    • Programming and shell scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or PHP.
    • Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery.
• Personal customer service skills are strongly desired, such as:
