Alta Vista Animal Hospital is Hiring a Registered Veterinary Technician Near Montrose, CO

Alta Vista Animal Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our exceptional team. We are a busy two-doctor practice offering care to companion pets in our Montrose community.

This is a full-time or part-time, Monday-Friday role (4-10s) with weekends off.

The ideal candidate:

  • Preference will be given to candidates with animal-related experience; however, we’re also open to training individuals who love animals and have great customer service skills
  • Compassionate team players who have excellent communication skills
  • Self-starters who can move quickly from task to task, while still paying close attention to detail
  • Personable and professional individuals who enjoy connecting with clients as well as the team
  • Veterinary knowledge and/or Cornerstone experience is a plus!

Skills and responsibilities:

  • Anesthetic induction
  • Anesthesia monitoring
  • Surgical preparation and assistance
  • Dental prophy
  • Digital radiology
  • Patient handling and restraint
  • Blood draws
  • IV catheter placement
  • Suture wounds and incisions
  • Pharmacy duties
  • Lab work
  • Drug calculations
  • Outpatient procedures
  • Microscopic evaluation
  • Administer vaccines, injections, and medications
