ABOUT THE JOB -SHOP SPRAY PAINTER KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • ·Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and masking as needed
  • Mix and apply paints and coatings using a variety of spray equipment.
  • Ensure paint application is even and free from defects such as runs and streaks.
  • Monitor and adjust paint gun settings for proper flow and coverage.
  • Follow safety protocols to protect yourself and others from hazardous materials.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of spray equipment.
  • Inspect finished work to verify conformance to specifications and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of paint usage and materials inventory.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to meet production schedules and deadlines.

ABOUT YOU - TRAITS AND SKILLS NECESSARY FOR SUCCESS:

· Paint Application: Proficiency in using various paint application methods, including spray guns, airbrushes, and paint rollers.

· Surface Preparation: Knowledge of surface preparation techniques, such as sanding, masking, cleaning, and priming, to ensure a smooth and clean surface for paint application.

· Color Matching: The ability to accurately match paint colors to meet specific requirements or replicate existing finishes.

· Paint Mixing: Skill in preparing and mixing paint and coatings to the correct consistency and color according to specifications.

· Equipment Maintenance: Ability to perform routine maintenance and cleaning of paint spray equipment to ensure optimal performance.

· Quality Control: Attention to detail to ensure that paint application is even, free from defects, and meets quality standards.

· Health and Safety: Understanding of safety protocols and protective measures when handling paint and hazardous materials.

· Attention to Detail: The ability to notice and correct even minor imperfections in paint application.

· Patience: Patience is essential when working on intricate or time-consuming projects to achieve the desired finish.

· Steady Hand: A steady hand is crucial for maintaining precise control over the paint spray equipment.

SHOP SPRAY PAINTER REQUIREMENTS:

· Proven experience as a Paint Shop Sprayer in automotive, industrial, or related fields.

· Proficiency in operating paint spray equipment and tools.

· Knowledge of paint mixing, color matching, and finishing techniques.

· Understanding of safety procedures related to handling paint and coatings.

· Ability to read and interpret technical documents and specifications.

· Detail-oriented with a keen eye for quality and precision.

· Strong communication skills and a team player mentality.

· Physical stamina and ability to stand, bend, and lift during work.

· Relevant certifications or training in painting techniques (preferred).

· Authorized to work in the U.S.

SCHEDULE:

· Typical Business Hours: 7:00am-3:00pm, with flexibility

· Location: 17 Florida Ave., Paterson, NJ 07503

COMPENSATION:

· $21.00- 25.00 hourly range to start, depending on experience

· Discretionary bonuses
