We are looking for a PurchasingManager to manage inventory levels, negotiate pricing, establish and managelarge programs with vendor supply partners.Maintain and understand market pricing while taking into account rebates,quality, defects, freight, vender claims and coop funds.
WHATYOU WILL DO:
·Coordinate sources of supply toobtain the most economical purchases possible
·Evaluate the dependability andresourcefulness of suppliers and competitive quotations, while considering theoverall impact at the location level
·Maintain responsible andaccurate records with regard to purchasing, pricing, and deliveries
·Verify quantity and quality ofstock received from suppliers, authorize invoice payments and merchandisereturns, and inspect exchanged and refunded merchandise
·Locate new sources of supplywhile keeping abreast of changing trends in prices and availability ofmaterials, provide product information to staff, and recommend necessaryactions to ensure a continued flow of materials to meet inventory and salesrequirements
·Recommend policies andprocedures for purchasing function.
·Communicate regional marketingopportunities with Management, including trade shows, publications, andseminars
·Advise the Management ofmargin/profit opportunity and meet standards for quality, fill rates, inventoryturns, and gross margin as periodically established
·Take an active training rolewith our Authorized Dealer Network, including training, following up onproject/customer leads, and compiling project submittal documents
·Communicate with mainline salesteam about upcoming jobs and possible customer needs
WHATYOU WILL BRING:
·Minimum of 5 years inpurchasing/product management
·Constant communication withoutside sales to help identify projections to ensure product requirements aremet
·Take into consideration rebateswhen pricing material
·Ensure each vender/mill is heldto a quality standard we expect and keep those standards and specs consistentto minimize dead inventory and or unusable product
·Build and establishrelationships with venders/suppliers required to provide on market pricing tokeep margins in line with current inventory cost levels
·Ability to learn quickly in afast-paced environment
·Exceptional multitasking anddetail orientation skills
·Ability to communicate clearlyand concisely in written and verbal formats
·Strong customer serviceorientation
·Demonstrated capability todevelop strong interpersonal working relationships and work in a teamenvironment
·Ability to carry outinstructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
·Ability to solve problemsinvolving several concrete variables in standardized situations
·Commitment to and demonstrationof high ethical standards governing professional behavior and interactions
·Proven proficiency in the use ofa personal computer accompanied by a strong aptitude for technical applications
·Excellent time management andorganizational skills
Salary range: $65,000 to $85,000 per year, dependent upon experience
