We are seeking a temporary, full-time intern who is interested in pursuing a career in immunology research. In this role, you will participate in creating and testing novel therapeutic proteins. A successful candidate for this internship will have an enthusiasm for developing novel immunomodulatory therapeutics, an inquisitive mind, and excellent work references.
This is a full-time, temporary position (30-40 hours per week, up to 12 weeks). This is a fully onsite position. Applicants must be available to work onsite for this position (usually between 9-5 PM, Monday-Friday). Our laboratory is located in Seattle’s Eastlake neighborhood (188 E. Blaine St., Seattle WA 98102).

Key skills you will acquire:
·Basic molecular biology competency including primer design, PCR, Gibson assembly, and sequence analysis
·Recombinant protein expression via transient transfection and purification
·Immunoassays- ELISA, reporter cell lines, primary immune cell coculture
·Database entry and protein request queue tracking
·Lab operations support
Qualified candidates will have the following:
·A passion for discovery in immunology
·At least two years’ university-level coursework in a scientific discipline
·Research laboratory experience strongly preferred
·Attention to detail, with a mindset to carefully track results
·Excellent communication skills, including the capacity to clearly present and explain results
·Motivation to perform precision bench work
·Aptitude to learn quickly
·Energy and flexibly to collaborate with a busy team in a rapidly evolving company
·An eagerness to contribute to Alpine’s science
·Strong working knowledge of MS Office
·Database experience a plus

This internship is an entry level position with a compensation range of $20 to $25 per hour. Interns will accrue PTO at rates based off hours worked and are eligible for Alpine paid holidays. Interns at Alpine will also be eligible to receive a subsidized ORCA card for public transit.
