DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Develops and implements new and better processes, process controls, automation, and instrumentation for all Alphia plants to support manufacturing and quality assurance.
• Implements projects from initial concept, budgeting, option development, final design, PLC programming, installation, start-up, and maintenance support.
• Available to travel 10% - 30% to plants and equipment vendors.

COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

• Working knowledge of Rockwell Automation's RSLogix 5000, DeviceNet, Ethernet, VFD setup, Servos and Robotics.
• Highly skilled in writing lengthy and complex PLC code. 
• Experience working with manufacturing equipment such as driers, fluid pumps, conveyors (pneumatic, screw, belt, vibrating), instrumentation (temperature, flow, weights), ovens, motors, fans, extruders, grinders, formers, scales, metal detection, bag and box packers.
• Able to convert initial concepts and desired outcomes into actual plant equipment and processes by working with Engineers and management.
• Proficient in assisting maintenance with troubleshooting. 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: (To perform this job successfully, and individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required).

• Education:
  • BS in electrical engineering / technology (or other engineering degree) with 4 years of applicable experience or 8 years of applicable experience directly related to manufacturing processes control, and automation.
