Alpha Landscapes is Hiring an Assistant Project Manager Near Johnston, IA
ALPHA Landscapes is an established, but quickly growing commercial construction focused landscape firm working with general contractors and developers in central Iowa.
We are in search of a motivated assistant project manager to help support our project management team and execute successful landscape projects across central Iowa.
The ideal candidate should have a background in landscape/horticulture, and/or commercial/civil construction, and be familiar with landscape construction processes. In this role the candidate will work under a project manager and be prepared for taking on a future role as a standalone project manager with our growing organization.

Job Description/Responsibilities:
- Assist Project Manager to help facilitate workload in planning, coordinating, and overseeing landscape construction projects
- Participate in meetings with owners, general contractors, and landscape architects
- Procure quotes from suppliers and subcontractors
- Backlog forecasting/management & budgeting
- Complete Submittals/RFIs/COs and manage related documents
- Utilize our project management software, google sheets, and client specific softwares to set up and maintain projects (Confirming scope and contract amounts, setup orders and create POs)
- Schedule coordination with clients, subcontractors, and ALPHA production superintendents
- Provide direction to superintendents and field supervisors
- Monitor project financial and quality performance during and after project completion
Requirements:
- Self-motivated individual who can be proactive in managing landscape projects
- Must have ability to manage your time and work effectively with little supervision
- Effective time management, organization and multitasking skills
- Strong communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace
- Proven customer service, construction, and landscape/horticulture skills
- 1 year of previous construction management or horticultural management experience AND/OR an associates/bachelors degree in horticulture, construction management, or related field.
*Starting compensation of $50-65k plus benefits package*
