Aloia, Roland, Lubell & Morgan, PLLC is Hiring a Legal Assistant - Business and Civil Litigation Near Fort Myers, FL

Job DescriptionAt the direction of the Lead Paralegal for the specific department, with a focus on commercial and construction-related litigation, perform billable and administrative tasks specific to the type of client matter. The position is a full-time position with business hours Mon-Fri. 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Additional hours may be required to work depending on client caseload and deadlines.
  • A minimum of one year of Legal Assistant experience is required.
  • Commercial/Construction litigation legal experience a plus.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Able to schedule matters and file legal documents with the Court system.
  • Excellent attention to detail to ensure high-quality work product and ability to execute tasks through to completion.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to use common sense.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate by phone and email, and provide information and “customer service” with ordinary courtesy and tact.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize competing demands under pressure.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with unpredictable deadlines.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing computer applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a team player.
  • Strong technical skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of law office policies and procedures and ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency with office equipment.
  • Ability to work more than 35 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position when needed; may require irregular hours.
  • Complete administrative phone and email screening and messaging; where appropriate greet visitors.
  • Maintain positive contact with clients, attorneys, and staff and observe confidentiality of attorney-client matters.
  • Establish and maintain calendar and deadline reminder systems and meeting schedules; utilize master calendar system, where applicable, and assist attorney in organizing and managing multiple daily tasks.
  • Process incoming mail, including reviewing, sorting, scanning, dating, and otherwise organizing and routing it to appropriate parties; Manage outgoing mail ensuring it will be received on time, routing to specified or expedited delivery service as required and confirming delivery.
  • Heavy phone and email communication with clients and related parties
  • Organize document management program, and assist attorneys in preparing weekly reports for clients.
  • Projects a high degree of professionalism and interpersonal skills.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as assigned; works collaboratively with other staff, paralegals, and attorneys.
