Aloha Driving Schools is Hiring a Drivers Education Instructor Near Centralia, WA

Job Description:

As a Driver's Ed. Instructor at Aloha, you'll mainly be teaching newer drivers in the community the foundations of driving in a calm, encouraging manner behind the wheel. This job, while very rewarding, has its share of challenges. Being a Driver's Ed. Instructor is not for those who are squeamish or faint of heart. If you're considering this job, here are some of the main traits we are looking for that would make you a good fit for this position!

1. Patient. New driver's often struggle with driving, and driving anxiety is at an all-time high. 2. Teachable. To become an instructor, you need to go through training which we will provide, but you do need to be willing to learn and take constructive criticism. You will basically be going through a more advanced version of driver's education, learning things in the classroom and behind the wheel. You're going to learn new things, new techniques, new teaching styles, and you need to be receptable to those new ideas, just like how your students in the future will hopefully be receptable to what you teach them.

3. Competent. Once you finish training and we feel comfortable that you're ready to teach by yourself, it will be your responsibility to keep those inside and around the vehicle safe. Safety is our number one priority at Aloha, so it's vital that you're able to consistently able to teach, watch for hazards, and be prepared to take control of the vehicle at all times. We will absolutely train you for all of this, but you will have to be able to put it into practice.

4. Responsible/Accountable. As a Driver's Education Instructor, your main responsibility will be keeping the students safe and teaching them more than adequately. With the one-on-one teaching style that comes with teaching in the vehicles, you need to be responsible for how you treat students, always ensuring that it's appropriate and positive. You'll also be responsible for filling out paperwork for the drives you do with the students and making sure the vehicle you're using for instruction is in working order, among other things.

These are the main traits that make a good instructor, but also being a good communicator, team player, punctual, etc. are very valuable traits for this job as well.

The hours worked vary greatly with the time of the year, but it will generally be around 25 hours a week with summers being busier, and winters being slower.
