Estimator Job Opportunity at Almers Construction Inc.

Are you a hardworking, dedicated individual looking to kickstart your career in the oil and gas industry? Almers Construction Inc. in Tioga, ND is currently seeking an Estimator to join our team.

Pay: $30/hour depending on experience

Hours: 40 hours/week Monday - Friday

Position Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing the projected time frame needed for customer jobs through to completion including additional factors like labor needs, materials, budgets and potential setbacks. Adjusting schedules and targets on the project as needs or financing for the project change
  • Managing bid requests from existing customers and obtaining bids from new clients
  • Analyze project requirements and plans to gain a thorough understanding of the project. Use bid data to prepare detailed cost analysis and presenting prepared estimates to management and customers
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with company vendors and contractors
  • Performing quality control on the project throughout development to maintain the standards expected to include regular site visits to check on progress of active projects
  • Creating long and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines. Determining what factors of production will influence the cost of a service or product.
  • Communicating with company leadership to keep the project aligned with their goals
  • Efficient and timely communication with customers, personnel and contractual professionals or vendors with job status and updates
  • Serving as a point of contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain synergy
  • Compile reports outlining everything their client needs to complete a project within a set time frame, including costs

Qualifications

  • Have at least one (1) year of experience in pipeline industry
  • Must have a strong background in projects ranging from $100K to $5M in total value
  • Attention to detail
  • Flexible and is able to multitask as well as manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Firm grasp of standard safety regulations/requirements/qualifications, as well as able to learn each customer required safety specifications and qualifications
  • Have solid understanding of steps involved in estimating/bidding Time & Material and Lump Sum projects
  • Have leadership skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Team Player
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in all types of weather conditions
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • High school diploma or its equivalent
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
