ALMACO in Nevada, Iowa is seeking candidates for a Janitor position to maintain the cleanliness of all areas in the ALMACO facility to provide a safe and healthful work environment. This role is a good fit for an individual who can independently identify and complete tasks.
This position is full-time (40 hours/week) with flexible day shift hours between 6:00 am and 5:00 pm.

Opportunities in this position:

• Cleans common areas including restrooms, breakrooms, hallways, and manufacturing areas, including vacuuming and sweeping floors, dusting and cleaning surfaces, cleaning and disinfecting toilets, sinks, and mirrors, and removing trash.
• Cleans floors and surfaces in manufacturing areas, staying aware of equipment, forklifts, and other moving parts.
• Assists with leaf blowing, gardening, and other light groundskeeping duties.
• Inventories and stocks cleaning supplies and other equipment in closets, soap dispensers, etc.

To excel in this position, you have:

• A high school diploma or equivalent is desired but not required.
• General knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment is required.
• Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment while wearing PPE including safety toed shoes, safety glasses, and gloves.
• The ability to read job instructions, manuals, diagrams, and safety information.
• The ability to communicate with team members about work assignments and environmental issues.
• Adequate vision to perform hands-on work.
• The ability to use a computer to record time worked.
