Ally Learning LLC is Hiring a Summer Program Instructor (Grades 5-8) Near Dearborn, MI

Position Schedule:

  • June 18th, 2024-July 25th, 2024 (6 Week Program)*
  • Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays (1:15pm-3:45pm) at The Dearborn Academy (19310 Ford Rd, Dearborn, MI 48128).

2.5 hours/day onsite at The Dearborn Academy (Dearborn)

Position Summary

For Summer 2024, Ally Learning LLC is seeking qualified candidates to fill the Summer Enrichment Instructor positions for the Mythical Seekers (Grades 5-6), Dyno Discoverers (Grades 5-6), Monster Trackers (Grades 7-8), and Space Scholars (Grades 7-8) Programs. The Programs start on June 18th, 2024 and will take place Monday-Friday and will conclude July 25th, 2024.

Class Size: 30 students. There will be 2 Summer Program Instructors per class (One Instructor for every 15 Students).

Responsibilities

The Summer Enrichment Program Instructor position, under the supervision of the Executive Director, will:

  • Maintain effective communication with the Ally Learning Executive Director and school personnel at the assigned site.
  • Follow the direction of the Ally Learning Executive Director & other administrative staff, and adhere to program requirements.
  • Prepare for activities in advance (all curriculum and materials will be provided).
  • Follow curriculum instructions and facilitate small groups of students.
  • Establish a good rapport with students and school staff.
  • Provide feedback to students using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage, motivate, or build confidence in students.
  • Other duties as assigned.

II. Qualifications & Competencies

  • At least 1 year of college education
  • Mastery in primary K-8 STEM Subjects
  • At least 1 year experience in tutoring/teaching
  • Must have previous experience working with K-8 students
  • Must have patience, a positive attitude, and willingness to work with and mentor youth
  • Ability to express good judgment in the role of mentor
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to connect with others and forge strong relationships
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Able to lift/ move objects & boxes up to 10lbs
  • Pass required background checks
  • Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic, and ability backgrounds
  • Knowledge and implementation of relevant technology.

III. Compensation

● $18.00/hr

● Part-time position--2.5 hours per day (10-12.5 hrs per week)

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 12.5 per week
