Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist in organizing household items
• Assist with basic housekeeping tasks (sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, mopping)
• Care for clothing (washing, drying, ironing, and putting away/hanging up)
• Assist or administer bed or tub bath, sponge bath, shower, or sit bath
• Assist with or dress client
• Assist and/or perform hair care, skin care, and nail care (cleaning under nails, painting, filing – you may not cut a client's nails)
• Mouth care (including dentures)
• Make an occupied or unoccupied bed
• Assist with mobility with or without assistive devices
• Shave client
• Assist with active range of motion exercises if prescribed by MD
• Assist with transfers with/without mechanical devices
• Assist with proper food handling, food storage, and pest control
• Prepare client for mealtime and assist with feeding
• Take/record vital signs (BP, temp, HR, and resp) and recording blood sugar
• Assist client with bedpan/urinal
• Bowel/bladder retraining
• Observe, record, and report self administered medications
• Apply/remove prosthetic devices for stable clients
• Apply ace bandages/TEDs/binders
• Apply heat and cold as prescribed by MD
• Change non sterile dressings
• Care for non-infected decubitus ulcers
• Assist clients in understanding medical orders/routines and encourage compliance
• Recognize and report indicators of abuse, neglect, illness etc. to proper official
• Provide basic first aid
• Respond to emergency needs as they occur per company policy
• Assist to find/use community services
• Provide companionship/emotional support

Education: High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Individual must have received appropriate training in a Board of Nursing approved program NA-I Aide training and competency program. Individual must be listed with the North Carolina Nurse Aide Registry. Must be 18 years of age for employment. Experience:

• 0-6 months
