Allied Physicians Surgery Center is Hiring a Quality Assurance Assistant Near South Bend, IN

Collaborates closely with and reports to the Director of Quality Management and Regulatory Compliance, Executive Director, Medical Director and Clinical Director. Assists Directors with developing and implementing Quality Improvement Plan and evaluates data and reports quarterly to Quality Improvement Committee. Attends meetings and training sessions as required.


Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Assesses the requirements of the Medical Quality Improvement Committee in

collaboration with the Director of Quality Management and Regulatory Compliance, Executive Director, Medical Director, and Clinical Director.

  • Assists the Quality Assurance Coordinator in development of the Quality Improvement Program. Coordinates collection of data and works collaboratively with Directors and staff to collect and interpret data and to plan and implement techniques for improvement.
  • Communicates assessments to members of the management team in a timely manner.
  • Assists Director of Quality Management and Regulatory Compliance in development, planning, implementation and evaluation of mandatory annual in-services, and requested or identified needs for in-service/education experiences for staff. Assists staff members in planning to meet identified educational needs and goal achievement.
  • Plans to assure that educational resources are available to staff.
  • Plans for own educational needs, in order to serve the Center's Quality Assurance needs most effectively.
  • Maintains the annual required in-service program and coordinates with members of the management team to facilitate attendance of all employees. Additionally, assists with maintenance of the Medical Staff Credential files.
  • Works collaboratively with the Director of Quality Management and Regulatory Compliance and Infection Preventionist with infection control reporting.
  • Coordinates with staff members of the Medical Quality Improvement Committee to assure that all required research, analysis and documentation is performed in preparation for the quarterly Medical Staff Meetings.
  • Communicates significant information to Director of Quality Management and Regulatory Compliance, Executive Director and Clinical Director in a timely manner. Completes written documentation as requested and/or per policy.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Quality Management and Regulatory Compliance, Executive Director and Medical Director, facilitates achievement of unit goals which are in harmony with those of Administration.
  • Performs in a manner which demonstrates accountability, utilizing sound decision- making skills and nursing judgement.
  • Participates in Quality Improvement Program activities including identification of aspects of care, collection and analysis of data, preparation of excel spreadsheets to reflect results, formulation of recommendations, implementation of an improvement plan and evaluation of the process.


HIPAA Compliance:

  • The Quality Assurance Assistant will have full access to medical records.


Education and Experience:

Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Quality Mgmt. or related field or a combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. CPHQ or CHC certification preferred or ability to obtain within one year of hire.


Minimum Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Similar experience in health care setting
  • Demonstrates interpersonal communication skills in order to facilitate effective interaction with a variety of health care professionals and personnel.
  • Ability to work independently and to organize and prioritize work efficiently to achieve the Center's goals


Working Conditions:

  • Accountability to Director of Quality Management and Regulatory Compliance, Executive Director and Clinical Director, with indirect accountability to the Medical Director.
