We serve 200,000 people every month through a network of 330 partners in 40 counties in Missouri and Illinois. Position Summary:

Maintain Operation Food Search product inventories at a high degree of accuracy using a scheduled cycle count process and inventory best practices for receiving, item tracking, storage, movement, and accountability.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of inventory control systems utilizing the inventory management software system, to effectively support Operations, Product Sourcing and Programs departments.
  • Efficiently handle incoming and/or outgoing products to assure correct counts.
  • Ensure FIFO within the warehouse and delivery, including inputting consume by dates, product category and nutrition ranking within inventory system.
  • Support and maintain inventory tracking, documentation and reports as well as provide feedback to the Inventory Specialist for continued improvement process outcomes.
  • Maintain an inventory count on all product pulled for agency orders.
  • Track all product that is being discarded and document weight and case count for an accurate inventory adjustment.
  • Perform cycle counts on all levels in the warehouse (dry, cooler and freezer).
  • Unload and perform visual inspection of inbound freight. Document the temperature of frozen and refrigerated items and determine fitness of items for distribution.
  • Check all stock levels to ensure that correct counts are being staged and picked for agency orders.
  • Document all products that are returned, to ensure that returned product is entered back into the inventory system to ensure that the inventory is accurate.
  • Provide inventory reports to Inventory Specialist as needed.
  • Perform data entry for all items by preparing appropriate shipping/pallet tags.
  • Work with warehouse staff to ensure all items are labeled and stored accurately. Rotate and remove product as directed.
  • Research and resolve inventory discrepancies by identifying causes and making recommendations for improvement.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year's experience in inventory support.
  • Experience using an inventory management software system.
  • Experience using standard warehouse equipment, including forklift and pallet riders.
  • Valid driver's license and proof of driving record required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to operate a computer, such as sending and receiving emails and preparing basic memos and reports.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Skilled in managing multiple projects.
  • Attention to detail, handling interruptions, maintaining focus on tasks, and producing accurate work.
  • Great organizational skills a must.

Special Requirements:

  • Occasional travel required for meetings, events, and conferences.
  • Flexibility in working hours for occasional special after-hours events or weekend activities.
  • Willingness to volunteer for other OFS duties that don't fall under regular job duties.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift at least 25 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, both indoors and outdoors.
