JOB SUMMARYUnder general supervision, places orders for consumables, raw material and outside processing. Researches best price and lead time. Negotiates with suppliers and follows up on open orders. Resolves problems with orders and processes returns if necessary. Ability to grow into position and become responsible for more complicated purchasing functions.QUALIFICATIONS
- 6 months to a year of office experience in purchasing/accounting, or similar discipline preferred.
- Familiarity/prior experience with computerized systems such as databases, etc.
- Familiarity with MicroSoft Office (Word, Excel).
- Must be detail-oriented and organized.
- Must be able to communicate effectively and tactfully.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently to meet deadlines.
- Must be flexible and adaptable with regard to changing priorities and assignments.
