Job Description:

Located in Houston, Texas, Allied Industrial Dynamics is an organization specializing in the design, manufacturing, servicing, and repair of centrifuges and we're seeking a dedicated Supervisor Lead Hand to join our team. With a focus on precision, safety, and quality, this hands-on role is crucial to the success of our operations.

Responsibilities:

  • As the Supervisor Lead Hand, you'll play a pivotal role in managing a team of skilled professionals, including machinists, welders, and general laborers. Reporting to senior management off-site, your responsibilities will include:
  • Team Leadership: Provide guidance, support, and direction to the team to ensure efficient workflow and achievement of production goals.
  • Job Planning: Plan and coordinate the sequence of actions required for job completion, ensuring deadlines are met and resources are utilized effectively.
  • Technical Expertise: Utilize your expertise to read, interpret, and understand technical drawings and diagrams, guiding the team in executing tasks accurately.
  • Machine Operation: Select and operate appropriate machinery such as lathes and mills, maintaining a focus on safety protocols and operational efficiency.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor output to ensure consistency with specifications, conducting measurements and troubleshooting any malfunctions to uphold quality standards.
  • Tolerance Management: Utilize your experience in machining to very tight tolerances, thriving in a fast-paced, repetitive machining environment.
  • Process Optimization: Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes, implementing adjustments and reprogramming controls as necessary to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Lead by example in promoting and adhering to company health and safety programs, ensuring all team members comply with regulations and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in manual machining processes and operation of relevant machinery.
  • Strong ability to read, understand, and interpret technical drawings and diagrams.
  • Proven track record in machining to tight tolerances within a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and adjust processes as needed.
  • Commitment to promoting and participating in company health and safety programs.
  • Leadership experience or aptitude, with the ability to motivate and mentor team members effectively.
  • Completion of a diploma training program at a college or technical school OR college diploma in related discipline; or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a programmer/machinist in a manufacturing environment.

Salary:

  • Negotiable and determined based on work experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
