Alliance One International, Inc. is Hiring a Storage Supervisor Near Wilson, NC

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Storage Supervisor to oversee the operations of our tobacco storage facility. The Storage Supervisor will be responsible for driving safety, quality and accuracy objectives across a multi-site storage operation. This is a leadership role will also manage a cohort of storage leads and their team members.

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and provide guidance to shipping and receiving staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Work with Safety and Training Manager to establish and maintain core safety practices consistently across the department and operating sites.

Planning and Budget Management:

  • Establishes annual operating plans for the department, and its operational sites.
  • Develop and manage the annual storage operations budget.
  • Future plans expected to challenge the current operating practices of the department and its sites.
  • Capable of innovation and change management in department's development.

Logistics Coordination:

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products.
  • Collaborate with various departments to schedule shipments, prioritize orders, and meet customer demands.

Inventory Management:

  • Oversee accurate tracking and recording of inventory levels using appropriate software systems.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure data accuracy and identify discrepancies.

Quality Control and Compliance:

  • Ensure products are properly packaged, labeled, and documented for shipping in compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Monitor and enforce safety protocols in shipping and receiving areas to prevent accidents and maintain a safe work environment.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain organized records of shipments, receipts, and inventory transactions.
  • Generate and analyze reports related to shipping and receiving activities, identifying trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for streamlining processes, reducing costs, and enhancing efficiency in shipping, receiving, and inventory management.
  • Develop and implement best practices to optimize workflows and improve overall warehousing and logistics performance.

Customer Related:

  • Collaborate with Business Relationship Managers to organize customer inspections, sample preparation and to ensure accurate and timely sales order fulfillment.
  • Ensure integrity of both internal and external customers' stored product is maintained, through the warehousing function and the onward stages of the supply chain.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience (7 years) in warehousing, inventory, shipping, and operations management, with a track record of progressively increasing responsibility.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team of diverse individuals.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and systems (SAP/ERP)
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with experience dealing with External and Internal Customers directly.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accuracy in all aspects of the role.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards in shipping and receiving.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to adapt to changing priorities, including adjusting work schedules and resources to match variations of work load requirements throughout the operating cycle.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $78,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
