As the Director of Facilities you'll be responsible for overseeing all full and part-time Environmental Services staff (Custodians, Housekeepers, Laundry Aides and Maintenance/Van Drivers) and the overall operations of the Environmental Services department. You should review written maintenance requests and coordinate routine maintenance of grounds. You'll conduct daily tours of the facility for safety surveillance to monitor potentially unsafe work areas, equipment and practices and ensure compliance of Life Safety regulations governing the skilled nursing facilities. You'll be expected to use your knowledge and skills of plumbing, electrical, roofing and carpentry in the implementation of repair projects and preventive maintenance schedules.

  • Coordinates Schedules and coverage for the department along with the Supervisor to oversee staff and duties within the department
  • Coordinates daily operations with Nursing, Therapies, Care Management, /Social Services, Dietary, Facilities Management, and Materials Management Departments to maintain and improve quality of care to all residents
  • Demonstrates ability to delineate formal mechanisms of accountability with the team
  • Develops, implements, administers, and monitors policies and procedures pertaining to the care and safety of the facility, residents, and the protection of personal rights and property
  • Monitors physical condition of facility in conjunction with Maintenance and Housekeeping departments and addresses all concerns in a timely manner
  • Participates in all organizational meetings as needed to assure quality and safe operation of facility
  • Maintains a close working relationship with organization’s senior leaders to effectively and efficiently carry out duties of position
  • Serves as a liaison to other entities within the organization and hospital, as well as the Medical Director, attending physicians, and consultant service providers, regarding facility issues and quality of care for residents
  • Meets all requirements established by the senior leadership of the organization
  • Analyzes data for processes and work practice for facility operation
