Audio Visual Specialist

Carmel, IN

The Audio Visual (AV) Specialist is responsible for all audio and visual equipment aspects at ACES. This position's primary focus will be proactively monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining AV hardware and software in the conference rooms based on the Company’s needs. This position will be required to attend and manage AV needs during high-profile meetings. This person will also assist the Director of Corporate Security in maintaining the physical access control system and maintaining security technologies.

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Responsible for the proactive monitoring, maintenance, and replacement of all conference room equipment 
  • Plan, maintain, and coordinate upgrades of AV hardware and software 
  • Design and provide recommendations on solutions for conference room needs and other existing AV equipment 
  • Troubleshoot conference room issues with Microsoft Teams 
  • Responsible for televisions and message display boards around offices 
  • Provide technical support and maintain confidentiality during high-profile board and company meetings
  • Ability to work flexible hours during company events 
  • Document and create staff reference guides and tools for AV equipment 
  • Educate staff on best practices and event technology capabilities 
  • Monitor and address environmental controls for AV equipment in shared IT spaces
  • Maintain structured, organized, and properly labeled system wiring
  • Assist Service Desk with the install of computer equipment and peripherals
  • Install and maintain security cameras and associated physical security systems, analyze issues, and provide technical assistance and support to end users for AV needs
  • Work within company ticketing system to track and resolve reported AV issues
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of technological assets
  • Conduct periodic diagnostics and testing of equipment
  • Communicate with vendors for new technologies, defective equipment, and advanced troubleshooting
  • Provide 24 hours a day / 7 days a week on-call support on a rotating basis with other team members
  • Adhere to all ACES corporate policies and complies with all ACES regulatory requirements, including but not limited to NERC, FERC, and relevant state regulations, as applicable to this position as well as maintaining compliance with SOC 1 activities, ISSP activities, and NERC CIP practices and procedures
  • Travel as required to remote offices and off-site events
  • Any additional responsibilities assigned by management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • 1 to 4 years of experience with audio-visual equipment in a professional environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams (preferred) or similar conferencing technology
  • Experience with hosted telephony preferred 
  • Experience with security cameras and physical access control systems preferred 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point 
  • A proactive individual with the ability to identify and solve problems effectively
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills as well as interpersonal and organizational skills to effectively interact with users, technical staff, vendors and management
  • Ability to physically move electronic equipment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
