ROLE SUMMARY
ROLE SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director, Information Technology, the Associate, Information Technology will provide direct service to three school sites in Los Angeles, representing roughly 75% of the role. Additionally, the Associate, Information Technology will work closely with other Information Technology team members to provide quick resolution of tickets and, when needed, ad hoc support at other Alliance schools and the Alliance Home Office.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work cooperatively with school staff and faculty at three Alliance schools in assisting and resolving user technical problems;
  • Provide technical support to users regarding hardware, software, and network related problems;
  • Provide hardware and software installation, configuration, maintenance, and upgrades to computers (Macs, Chromebooks, PCs) and networks (Windows);
  • Collaborate with others on the Home Office IT staff to provide timely resolution of Information Technology tickets;
  • When needed, provide ad hoc support at other Alliance schools and the Alliance Home Office;
  • Prepare hardware, software, and procedural documentation;
  • Maintain records and prepare reports related to equipment inventory, maintenance, installations, warranties and system defects;
  • Assist administration in educating staff on usage of technology through regularly scheduled professional development;
  • Participate in discussions involving vendors, suppliers and Alliance personnel regarding parts, equipment and program operations and new technology orders;
  • Maintain current knowledge of technological advances in computers and peripheral equipment, software, operating systems, and networks;
  • Collaborate with Director, Information Technology to ensure proper maintenance of hardware, software, and other technical equipment (DVRs, PBX/VoIP phones, printers, etc.);
  • Cross training with other technicians;
  • Perform other related job duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • At least 1 year of professional work experience in the maintenance, installation, configuration, upgrades of hardware, software, and operating systems of computers and local area networks required; 3 years of experience preferred
  • HS Diploma or equivalent (e.g. G.E.D.)
  • An Associates Degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field from an accredited college or university is preferred
  • Experience with Mac OS, Chrome OS, Windows OS, MacBooks, Chromebooks, iPads, Mobile devices and PC laptops required; experience with Google Admin, Jamf Pro, & Windows Active Directory preferred;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated success building trusting relationships with teachers and school site administrators;
  • Ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting customer expectations;
  • Strong customer service orientation, responding to customer needs in a timely manner;
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong oral and writing skills;
  • Ability to learn quickly;
  • Flexibility to adapt to constantly changing environments;
  • Passion for improving urban public education and a willingness to make a long-term commitment to K-12 education.
WORK LOCATION
This position is a hybrid role which will include a combination of working from home, our network office, and travel to school sites. The successful candidate will be given a $400 work-from-home set-up allowance and receive a monthly stipend of $100.

  • Relocation : Individuals residing outside of the Greater Los Angeles area are eligible for a relocation bonus of $5,000 for individuals and $7,500 for new staff with families/partners.

  • Paid Leave: Regular full-time 12-month employees receive 8.5 weeks of vacation and paid time off. Additionally, full-time employees accrue 3 weeks of flexible paid time off per year and receive 27 other paid holidays as part of our network calendar.
  • Professional Development: At Alliance, we believe in supporting staff growth and development. Home Office staff are allocated $500 per year for professional development expenses.

$28.85 - $38.50
