Lead Machine Builder - Electrical


POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Assembly Lead provides the leadership role for assigned projects at the shop level. The Assembly Lead will collaborate with the Assembly Coordinator to establish and maintain team member goals for each project under his direction. It will be his/her responsibility to meet key dates (build, power-on, and shipment) and provide daily/weekly feedback on project completion and timing.


TOP 5 ROLES:

  • Project Lead Responsibilities (Plan, Schedule, Prioritize the build/install, RAIL)
  • Communicate build issues/red lines per process
  • Time tracking of the project and build team to ensure meeting the plan
  • Ensure a clean and safe work environment (6S/COP) daily
  • Ensure and maintain the needed hardware inventory for the project at hand

Additional Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Enforce practices to ensure that employee safety is a top priority
  • Coordinating labor in the following areas to meet the production schedules for the project assigned:
    • Assembly Labor - Electrical
    • Installation Labor - Electrical
    • Contract Labor - Assembly & Installation Support
  • Coordinating and tracking time
    • Planning and monitoring target hours per department, per job, and per detail
    • Time tracking per assembly discipline
    • Training employees and contractors on property time reporting in CountERPart
    • Daily employee and contractor timecard review to ensure proper time reporting
  • R.A.I.L. status daily updates for assigned projects being processed through the assembly and sub-assembly area
  • Applies methodology and enforces departmental standards and processes
  • Monitor build materials and part releases
  • Shop equipment is being used properly and cleaned after each use
  • Support the kitting processes by providing a clean and clear location for part delivery
  • Ensure that shop organization and cleanliness are a high priority
  • Lead the R.A.I.L. meetings for projects assigned
    • Keeping hours updates on a weekly basis
  • All laborers should have a minimum of 2 days of work ahead of them
  • Support assembly area employee development
    • Providing training and performance feedback to laborers working on their projects
    • Providing feedback to Assembly Coordinator on employee performance
  • Shop floor organization
    • R.A.I.L. coach
    • 5S or 6S program participant and support
  • Quality control
    • Maintain established quality audits during the assembly process

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

Education/Training/Experience Required:

  • Must be able to provide clear direction for efficient assembly practices
  • Responsible to help execute career development plans for team members
  • Must have the capability to seek and participate in development opportunities above and beyond general training requirements
  • Associates degree or equivalent from a 2-year college or technical school or equivalent experience
  • 2 years experience in a similar position
