Alliance Advisors is inspired by hiring people to do their best work. We are looking for a talented individual to join our expanding Shareholder Advisory Group. This position seeks someone who sits at the intersection of the following areas: Corporate Proxy Solicitation & contested meetings, and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG). This position will require the ability to successfully guide publicly traded companies through our advisory services & their annual shareholder meeting process. 

Responsibilities:

• Relationship Management to identify client needs and provide sound and expert advice to ensure a successful shareholder meeting process.
• Strong communication skills required. Consult & develop relationships with business and core partners including, but not limited to: corporate attorneys, investor relations, compensation consultants, independent advisory firms, etc. Ensure communication is customer focused and professional.
• Perform research & analysis on a variety of proposals to be voted on at annual or special shareholder meetings of publicly traded companies.
• Apply an understanding of shareholder/corporate governance issues gathered through fundamental research and contact with institutional investors and/or company executives.
• Strategically work with clients to update them on their shareholder meeting campaign and advise strategies to deliver the highest level of shareholder support.
• Complete client-specific projects on various corporate governance trends, topics, and data research and support teammates in their completion of client projects as needed
• Lead or participate in engagement with institutional investors, corporate executives or directors and other market players.
• Answer internal and external queries on research analyses, and discuss policies and vote recommendations as appropriate
• Identify opportunities to enhance the department's service offerings, including various process improvement initiatives
• Draft, update and develop a wide variety of client communication material
• Participate in speaking engagements, public or private

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Experience:

• 2 years in proxy solicitation, investor relations, corporate governance, or corporate business experience.
• Keen understanding of the stock market & Corporate America.

Education:

• Bachelor's, advanced degrees, plus relevant work experience preferred in business, corporate social and environmental issues, or related fields
• Law degree, understanding of Corporate Law a plus.

Skills:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in problem solving and working tight deadlines whilst achieving good quality results
• Self-motivated individual, comfortable working without close supervision
• Organizational skills, attention to detail, a self-driven work ethic, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment
• Effective time management skills required
• Willingness to work long hours and potential weekends primarily during peak season (February through June), but on an as-needed basis throughout the year as well
• Comfortable communicating confidently to C-Suite levels management at a publicly traded company level.
