Allen Industries Inc is Hiring an Estimator Near Toledo, OH

The position of Estimator is responsible for preparing or coordinating the material and labor costs for the production and installation of sign and building element projects.

DUTIES

  • Prepare realistic and profitable cost and labor estimates for job opportunities

  • Ability to provide a standardized quote using programs pricing for variations as needed

  • Obtain accurate quotes for materials and systems to establish accurate cost estimates

  • Assist Installer with completing required documentation for each job site

  • Work with management to ensure reasonable and competitive quotes are given on a timely basis

  • Review estimates with the Production Department on a regular basis to ensure accurate analysis of cost of materials and labor

  • Prepare estimates for selecting vendors and subcontractors, and determine cost effectiveness

To become a part of our team we require applicants for our Estimator position to have the following qualifications:

SKILLS

  • Read and understand blueprints and drawings to accurately estimate labor and material costs

  • Ability to collect and research data

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. 

  • Ability to apply concepts of algebra and geometry

  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision

  • Ability to understand margins and gross profits

EDUCATION

  • Associate degree from an accredited university or college in math, engineering or other related field. 

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, information technology or the equivalent experience preferred.

EXPERIENCE

  • Two years of experience in estimating, service or similar industry. Sign industry experience preferred
