NDT Ultrasonic Test Inspector Level ll

We, Business Unit (BU) Specialized, belong to the Tube Division within Alleima Group, and we are a world leading producer and supplier of specialized tubular products in growing key market segments such as Aerospace, Medical and Hydrogen. We are now looking for NDT Ultrasonic Test Inspector Level ll for our Alleima Precision Tube site, based at Scottdale PA, USA.

We are a plant specialized in producing high precision stainless and nickel alloy tube products to various high demanding industries including aerospace, transportation, nuclear and petrochemical.

Your Role

Part of the Quality Department, you will play a critical role in helping ensure our products meet customer testing requirements. The position also contributes to the Supply Chain team by safely facilitating product testing through disciplined execution.

You will be responsible, your responsibility is to perform verification of in-process stainless tube shop fabrication dimensions based on specifications, with performing NDT procedures to include Ultra-Sonic (UT).

Your main tasks will be:

  • Comply with all Safety policies and requirements,
  • Studying work instructions, drawings and documents provided,
  • Carry out the necessary visual, dimensional and other checks on the tubes in accordance with the instructions given in the manufacturing orders,
  • Set-up, calibration, and utilization of nondestructive testing equipment within department
  • UT testing of austenitic stainless and nickel-based pipe and tubing to detect flaws.
  • Take part in operating the inspection machines and monitor the inspection process in accordance with the procedures in place: work instructions, safety and quality instructions,
  • Check quality in accordance with standards, arrange tubes and identify defects,

Remove non-compliant tubes,

  • Carry out specific operations to adjust the inspection if necessary,
  • Work closely with all departments to evaluate and interpret indications,
  • Ensure that all inspection findings are documented appropriately in conformance with the requirements for each inspection method as well as the requirements of the client,
  • Inspection and maintenance of the tools and equipment used to perform the duties above.
  • Perform specialized inspections and other job-related tasks as assigned by management

About you

To succeed in this position, you should provide the following skills and experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • Non-Destructive Evaluation Level I &/or II certification in line with SNT-TC-1A, NAS-410, or DOD guidance in Ultrasonic (UT)
  • Relevant years of experience as a level II non-destructive evaluation/testing inspector, ideally within the aerospace industry.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
  • Ideally, experience inspecting advanced materials such as high strength stainless steel alloys,
  • Strong organization and people skills in a team environment with multiple dynamic priorities.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to an inclusive culture.

If you are certified NDT Level I, with the ambition and the capacity to move up to the next level, we are willing to support and finance your Level II certification.
