Accounting Associate

This role will report directly to the CFO and assist in financial activities related to organization assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other financial areas. This role will also partner with internal and external customers to play a key role in ensuring the company receives payments for services offered to clients.

Duties

• Create and submit client invoices on a monthly basis, including fixed-fee, variable, recurring, and ad-hoc invoices.
• Verify and record customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable.
• Report the status of customer accounts on a regular and as requested basis.
• Draft correspondence for standard past-due accounts and collections, identify delinquent accounts by reviewing files, and contact delinquent accountholders to request payment.
• Update and communicate revenue projections on an ongoing basis.
• Review, obtain approval, and reconcile credit card transactions monthly for billing to customers.
• Process semi-monthly payroll and employee expense reimbursements.
• Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements, including but not limited to: - Reviewing monthly activity for reasonableness

- Posting month end journal entries.
- Sending quarterly financials to external accountants.

• Assist with preparation of annual budgets.
• Reconcile bank accounts on a monthly basis.
• Prepare monthly close out of intercompany transactions and commission reimbursement checks.
• Assist with filing various tax returns and participate in other tax related activities, including but not limited to;

- 1065s.,
- 1120S.,
- 1099s,
- CAT and other regulatory filings.

• Coordinate with software vendor to maintain accounting software system; recommend updates to enhance the accounting software.
• Assist in maintaining general ledger.
• Coordinate close of sales process.
• Assists with other office, financial, and accounting tasks as needed.

Education and Experience:

• A minimum of 2 years of accounting experience is required.
• 1 years of ERP Software experience required
• A bachelor’s degree in accounting or related business fields is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Working knowledge of QuickBooks required.
• Strong working knowledge of Sage Intacct preferred.
• Applicable knowledge of general financial accounting and tax accounting.
• Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Team-oriented individual.

Physical Requirements and working conditions:

Work will be performed primarily in an office setting with prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
