SUMMARY As a Sr. Functional Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for the implementation of the ISO-26262 functional safety design process for our next generation sensor products. These products will be part of safety critical electronic sensor systems contained in automobiles. WHAT YOU'LL DO Assessing and reviewing functional safety projects throughout the product design cycle. Auditing the product and the product team functional safety work products, evidence and activities. Working with sensor development teams on the application of and compliance to functional safety standards, i.e. ISO-26262. Creation or review of FIT rate calculations in SN29500, IEC 61790, or IEC62380 standards. Conducting confirmation reviews (I3) of hardware and software work products. Creating and releasing work process and procedure documentation for functional safety engineers and product development teams to follow. Managing customer audits of functional safety products. Maintaining functional safety assets in accord with proper document control and change management practices. Analyzing and managing technical quality concerns, researching new safety standards. Creating white papers on methodology such as fault injection and analysis methods. Creating Education material and leading training on our functional safety standards, design process and tools. Interfacing and support customers on topics of functional safety. Contributing to the customer facing Allegro Functional safety web page. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS BSEE or MSEE in electrical engineering or a related field with 5 experience in Functional Safety and ISO 26262 normative. Additional knowledge on ISO-21448 (SOTIF) and ISO-21434 (Cyber Security for Automotive) is more than welcome. Strong verbal, presentation, and collaboration skills, both in person and remotely. The successful candidate will possess a good balance of technical and business acumen, be comfortable multitasking in a dynamic environment, and have strong interpersonal skills.
