ALLEGHENY MILLWORK is Hiring a Financial Manager Near Gettysburg, PA

We are looking for a reliable Financial Manager that will analyze everyday financial activities and subsequently provide advice and guidance to the General Manager on future financial plans.

The goal is to enable the company’s leaders to make sound business decisions and meet the company’s objectives.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to utilize your expertise in financial analysis and strategic planning. By analyzing day-to-day financial activities with precision, you will provide valuable insights and recommendations to the General Manager.

Your guidance will empower the company’s leaders to make informed decisions that align with the organization’s long-term goals.

Additionally, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing financial plans that support the company’s growth and profitability.

Monitoring financial performance, identifying areas for improvement, and capitalizing on opportunities will be integral parts of your responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide financial reports and interpret financial information to the General Manager while recommending further courses of action.
  • Advise on investment activities and provide strategies that the company should take.
  • Maintain the financial health of the organization.
  • Analyze costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results and the company’s actual performance compared to the business plans.
  • Develop trends and projections for the firm’s finances.
  • Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Oversee operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives, and design a framework for these to be met.
  • Manage the preparation of the company’s budget.
  • Management of Cash flow, AP, AR, Purchase Orders, Sales & Use Tax and Inventory
  • Liaise with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained.
  • Correspond with various other departments, discussing company plans and agreeing on future paths to be taken.
  • Other duties as necessary

Requirements and Skills

  • Proven experience as a Financial Manager
  • Experience in the financial sector with previous possible roles such as financial analyst
  • Experience in a retail lumber yard or related industry is highly valuable
  • Extensive understanding of financial trends both within the company and general market patterns
  • Proficient user of finance software (experience with Spruce a plus)
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Able to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being utilized
  • A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles
  • Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations
  • BS/MA degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics
  • Professional qualification such as CFA/CPA or similar will be considered a plus
  • Commitment to maintaining a positive company culture and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
