All West Communications is Hiring an Installation Technician Near Ogden, UT

Job Schedule: This position will work Monday-Saturday, 8:00am-5:00pm, resulting in approximately 50 hours/week; 40 hours of straight time, and 10 hours of time and a half.

We are currently hiring for an Installation Technician to work out of our Ogden, UT office. Our Install Techs are the face of the company. We believe each customer interaction is an opportunity to delight the customer; we do that by assisting them with all of the following (and then some!):

Key Essential Functions and Duties

  • Installs new services purchased by customers, ensuring they are fully functioning to meet customer needs
  • Tasks include: Preparing installations (tests outside facilities, install/terminate/splice wiring from ONT/NID into home, etc.); provisioning telephone, data, and video services; installing CAT5 cabling if appropriate; installing, terminating wiring, testing connector ends and otherwise ensuring connectivity at the customer premise; setting up phone numbers to the switch as needed; consulting with and training the customer.
  • Performs documentation and post-installation clean up

Requirements

Should demonstrate abilities in the following areas:

  • Exceptional teamwork – and delegation where needed for working with coworkers
  • Strong customer service and communication skills for working with everyone
  • Negotiation and persuasion with vendors and customers
  • Independent problem solving and planning/organization skillsets
  • Comfortability with having daily and weekly interactions via phone, email, and face to face contact to complete tasks

All West believes the following will help our employees succeed in the role:

  • High school diploma, required
  • At least one-year telecommunications/electronics/RF coaxial systems experience, required
  • At least one year audio/video experience, preferred
  • A valid driver’s license and good driving record, required

Work Environment

Works in an inside and outside environment. Requires bending, carrying, lifting up to 40 lbs. independently. Will squat, twist, turn, and require frequent use of manual dexterity and visualization of computer equipment. Will make frequent use of general office equipment, computers, and phone systems.

Regular overtime required; this position requires 48 hrs. per week. Occasional travel required. Required to work hours outside of standard work schedule.
