Position Overview

• The Construction Foreman is a working foreman position, responsible for managing various construction projects and crew personnel.

Primary Duties

• Supervise and direct assigned construction crew to ensure project is completed in accordance with design, budget and schedule; ensure team follows all Gorman policies and procedures.
• Plan, coordinate and supervise on-site functions and provide input with scheduling and material control to make sure project objectives are met.
• Accurate and timely reporting of labor, materials and other pay items.
• Supervise and direct crew to ensure productivity, efficient use of materials and equipment, and contractual performance of the project are met.
• Interface with all on-site work teams (including subcontractors) as required, to resolve problems, ensure quality, safety, scheduling and achieving schedules in support of overall project objectives.
• Assist project management in developing and implementing project Work Plans and procedures, working documents and standards to ensure project goals are achieved.
• Meet or exceed Gorman Construction’s safety goals and foster a culture that expects participation at all levels.
• Create and/or foster a quality culture that recognizes the effect of quality on all operations, and takes steps necessary to provide a product or service that is a source of pride for our workers, and pleasing to our customers.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Highschool diploma or equivalent.
• 5 years in construction/paving industry with supervisor experience.
• Valid driver’s license (CDL Preferred) that complies with Gorman Construction's Fleet Policy.
• Knowledge or ability to learn digital production and labor reporting computer software.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, handle/feel objects, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch/crawl, see, talk and listen.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance and 50 pounds without assistance.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
• The employee will be required to work outdoors, in various weather conditions, and may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
• The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and may be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud.
• The employee is required to use appropriate PPE and follow all safety guidelines at all times.
