All Roads in Dundalk, MD is searching for an Assistant Controller to join our growing team. With automotive, truck and heavy equipment dealerships across 10 states, we offer a fast-paced, high volume environment where you can make an immediate impact. The Assistant Controller is responsible for independent work within the general ledger, expense coding, reconciliation and tracking of sales commissions, state and local tax filings, daily financial reporting , ad hoc reporting and projects/processes as needed. This role will partner with department leaders to understand key issues and business drivers. Prior experience in the automotive/heavy equipment dealerships is a plus!

1. Own the financial close process and all associated processes and reporting to deliver accurate and timely results to the organization to facilitate critical decision making
2. Continually evaluates best practices in comparison to internal systems
3. Prepare special reports and analyses as requested by the Controllers, CFO, CEO or President
4. Review the reconciliation of commissions biweekly and monthly, and track sales data
5. State and local tax filings (monthly, quarterly, annually), utilizing Avalara sales tax solutions
6. Other duties, as they arise

Required Education, Experience, and Skills

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
2. 5 years of relevant accounting experience
3. Prior management experience a plus
4. Strong level of Microsoft Excel, and ability to manipulate data into usable formats
5. Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
