All Points North Lodge is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant to work on-site/remote in Boulder, CO.

Broad Statement of Responsibilities: The Advanced Practitioner is responsible for examining patients, medically managing present withdrawal symptoms, evaluating and managing co-morbid medical/psychiatric conditions, prescribing and managing all medications, ordering /interpreting diagnostic tests, and providing on-going support to all clients admitted to DAC. The NP or PA will work under the supervision of the Psychiatrist, but may work independently, consulting with Physicians when necessary. The NP/PA will educate patients and families on the dangers of addiction, provide psychological support for those who are struggling with addiction, and participate in patient’s interventions. Extensive medical knowledge as well as a compassionate, positive, hard-working attitude is a must.
The proposed work schedule is shared with another advanced practitioner; 7 days on, 7 days off, including being on call (over the phone) for weeknights and in person over the weekend for those 7 days. The expectation is that these 2 practitioners will cover their planned vacation or off day ahead, so the unit is covered 24/7.

Required Education: This position requires the following education and licensure:
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program OR a Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Education
  • Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Licensure OR a PA license in the state of Colorado or being eligible for obtaining those
  • Valid DEA/XDEA number or eligibility to apply for Colorado DEA
  • BLS/ACLS certified
Preferences:
  • Double certification in family/psychiatric NP is preferred
  • Medical PA, with additional psychiatric certification, finished or pending
  • Experience in acute detox work and additional medical withdrawal management
  • Experienced with MAT use
  • Used to practice through telepsychiatry web based setting, if needed
Experience: This position requires a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the Nurse Practitioner or PA role in an inpatient hospital unit or at the higher level of care residential setting, attending to patients suffering from substance use disorders and other mental health disorders.
Special Skills & Knowledge: Candidates should have the following skills and attributes: must be able to work and communicate well with people; be adaptable and accept changes quickly and easily; be willing to address conflict appropriately, understanding of standard medical practices and procedures; great bedside manner.
 Basic computer skills to navigate Microsoft Office Suite, electronic health record and web-based products knowledge a bonus.

  • Must be able to speak English fluently, hear, use a telephone, and operate standard office equipment, such as a computer, printer, copier, and fax machine.

Position Duties and Responsibilities – Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Perform detailed patient assessments (History and physical exam ) for each client at admission
  • Monitor patient's status and provide ongoing management of each of patient’s condition (as applicable) throughout the whole treatment stay
  • Interviewing, examining, and diagnosing patients' injuries and illnesses
  • Ordering and interpreting all diagnostic tests
  • Prescribing and monitoring medications and suggesting lifestyle changes when applicable
  • Reviewing and maintaining patients' medical histories and records and recording patients' progress
  • Educate patients and their loved ones about the dangers of substance abuse and various treatment options
  • Provide education for staff on current Healthcare Related Infection risks within the agency.
  • Document all patent’s care, stay updated with billing requirements in EHR in timely manner
  • Respond to all duties in a clinically appropriate and timely manner according to APN guidelines
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Communicate clearly and directly with patients; provide emotional support to patients and family members under stress.
  • Fill out and update patient documents and charts within the EHR.
  • Set up for procedures with appropriate tools; maintain full inventory.
  • Continue professional education by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Able to interpret CIWA and COW’s results to provide verbal orders.
  • Participating in on call coverage on weeknights and weekends for after hours medical concerns and admissions.

Salary Range: $145,000.00 - $165,000.00/y, will be commensurate with education and work experiences.
