Seeking: School Social Worker

All Belong seeks a School Social Worker with a strong behavioral background to work with students, families, and member schools to promote and facilitate inclusive Christian education. The ideal candidate will have a strong Christian faith commitment that is integrated into their work. This person will be a member of All Belong’s team of highly experienced School Social Workers, School Psychologists, and Teacher Consultants, reporting to the Director of Education Services. This position will begin in August 2024 as a part-time to full-time position based on need and in conversation with All Belong.

Job Description

• Work collaboratively with member schools alongside a strong community of All Belong School Psychologists, School Social Workers, and Teacher Consultants.
• Candidates should be self-starters with a passion for education, supporting student behavior and mental health in schools, and a heart for youth.
• Work directly with students whose emotional, behavioral, and/or social challenges interfere with their ability to obtain maximum benefit from their educational program.
• Collaborate with students, families, and school staff to determine and implement appropriate therapeutic strategies and/or positive support plans to effect change, including crisis support.
• Provide ongoing consultation and/or training to teachers and administrators regarding students with emotional, behavioral, and/or social challenges.
• Connect parent/guardians, teacher(s), and principals to access community resources.
• Possess the robust ability to facilitate groups, i.e., social skills group, ADHD, suicide, depression, and anxiety. Must possess the ability to manage several personalities at one time.
• Create and provide training to All Belong member schools about assorted topics related to student and staff mental health; students’ emotional, social, and behavioral development and needs; and systems of support in schools.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Schedule and make on-site visits to your assigned member schools.
• Provide educational treatment and casework services to the students and families.
• Participate in monthly School Social Work Meetings to collaborate and improve upon programs and services.
• Assist parents and school staff with community referrals as needed.
• Keep on the forefront of evidence-based best practices in education, particularly related to student behavioral and social-emotional needs.

Qualifications and Attributes

• The ideal candidate will have a commitment to the Christian faith and to the importance of inclusive education for students of all abilities.
• Robust experience as a Social Worker in an educational setting.
• Candidates must hold a Master’s Degree in Social Work or a suitable equivalent. Candidates with a School Social Worker Certificate will be given first consideration.
• Subscribe to the mission, vision, and values of All Belong.
• Participate in and complete annual training, professional development, and other training as deemed appropriate for the position.
• Skilled in interviewing and individual and group treatment practices.
• Proficient in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
• Demonstrate leadership and autonomy in working with students, parents/guardians, teachers, staff, and community agencies.
• Competency in Microsoft 365 and Zoom.
• Access to own vehicle and reliable transportation.
• Can pass a background check.

Compensation

• Salaried on a 180-day school year contract. Benefits are based on caseload and availability.
• Mileage and travel expenses will be reimbursed, distance calculated from our office: computer provided.

Pay: $36,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
