Facilities Manager

Responsibilities involve management of tasks and employee performance in the following key areas:

· Manage the daily maintenance of the manufacturing facilities, ensuring a safe, secure, and efficient work environment.

· Manage all building, facilities and equipment installation, repairs, and maintenance programs.

· Ensure full site regulatory compliance at all times, including supporting visits for all regulatory permitting, compliance and inspections, by local state and federal agencies.

· Health, safety & environmental (HS&E) including chairing of the site safety committee.

· Manages the business maintenance tasks, including but not limited to upkeep of offices, buildings, grounds and company vehicles.

· Janitorial and site support services such as parking lot and ground services

· Act as Point of Contact for the local community and all regulatory authorities.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

· Educate, drive and measure site performance to ensure full compliance with all material handling, storage and waste management regulations as a part of daily operations Ensures the HSE and Facility/Equipment Maintenance standard practices are defined, implemented and driven daily through plant management in order to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations while maintaining company standards.

· Lead the organization in developing a continual improvement culture in the workplace, starting with facility/equipment maintenance, air, water quality and hazardous material permit compliance as well as OSHA training to implement an overall best practices to manage and active monitoring of all permit compliance requirements and industrial safety practices. This practice includes office, administrative, material handling, transportation and shop floor activities.

· Ensure awareness and responsibility through the deployment of a Facilities Management Operating System (MOS) including a consistent, safety hazard / near-miss reporting system, robust safety committee, safe and proactive best-in-class maintenance and facilities practices, frequent communication, on-site audits and a robust training, certification and learning system. The MOS must include a compliance and regulatory tracking program to keep accurate records and ensure advanced warning of training and certification requirements as well as tracking all proactive and preventative maintenance procedures.

· Compile and submit ALL regulatory, permit and compliance reports.

· Complete Audits to constantly identify department level regulatory, permit and compliance concerns, safety hazards and evaluate loss production potential and implement sustainable and measurable solutions that ensure full compliance and best maintenance, and janitorial/support practices are being consistently followed.

· Implement a consistent HSE reporting and metrics system and analyze incident and injury/illness data for targeted HSE activities to drive a zero-incident culture.

· Audit internal programs to determine the effectiveness and progress to best-in-class standards.

· Ensure a process and resources are in place with metrics to conduct routine inspections for permits, regulatory requirements, environmental compliance and industrial safety standards such as emergency lighting, fire extinguishers, hoists, ventilation, eyewash stations, PPE availability and all other HSE related activities at each location as necessary to maintain best-in-class HSE procedures.

· Ensure compliance to permit, consistent reporting, cost analysis scheduling and manifesting of any hazardous waste shipments.

· Ensure a process and resources are in place to continuously update the SDS library at each facility based on changes in work mix.

· Participate in implementation and execution of training of employees to ensure skills and capabilities match the needs of the business.

· Ensure efficient productive workforce that drives maximum business value within the cost budget.

· Schedule maintenance tasks, supervise maintenance workers, and respond to maintenance emergencies.

· Manage contractors and vendors, overseeing facility upkeep, refurbishment, renovations, and office moves with minimal disruption to business operations.

· Prepare and manage the annual budget for building use and facility maintenance.

· Monitor space allocation and long-term planning for needs and growth.Lead sustainability initiatives to reduce waste and energy consumption.

· Other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

· Proven experience as a facilities manager or relevant position, preferably in the manufacturing sector.

· Strong understanding of engineering and facilities management principles.

· Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.

· Experience with facility management software.

· Strong project management skills.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school) preferred

§ Experience: 10 plus years of experience in environmental and safety compliance within highly regulated industries. Preferred experience with hexavalent chrome, stringent air and water quality standards, painting, chemicals and hazardous material storage and transportation. Project management experience preferred. Preferred specific composites and aerospace industry experience.

Bilingual Spanish is a must

Aerospace Industry experience highly desirable

Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office
